Perfect for 1 or 2 couples, or small family. Our home is suitable for children, over 5 (not child proofed for infants/toddlers). It is wood heated with a very efficient Godin woodstove in the living room, and as well, electric heat in the bathrooms if needed, during the late Fall/or Winter/Christmas stays.
It sits virtually in the fields of Normandy with immediate access to walking, and cycling, and a quiet time off the grid. Writers find it highly conducive to working. You can walk out from the scullery onto the terrace, and drink the bounty of the fragrant, contained, private garden, busy with summer vegetables and flowers that are yours for the picking. Eat your meals in the warm west light, and rest deeply.
There are two staircases - from the kitchen into the guest room, and from the living room into the master bedroom.
There is a tremendous silence here, a great tranquility in the country, and a deep, dark night sky full of stars. Located in le Bourg, or downtown of the village. Boulangerie, grocery stores, markets, day trips - all a close drive.
Bedroom 1: Spacious guest bedroom: 1 double bed, armoire, chest of drawers, satellite TV.
Bedroom 2: Spacious master bedroom: double bed, chest of drawers, en-suite w/shower, east/west windows, sitting/reading area. En suite, with a tiled shower, sink, wc.
Tiled spacious master bath downstairs: sink, hot towel rack, bidet, toilet, large double ended 19th Century vintage clawfoot tub, towel shelving.
Country kitchen with new gas/electric stove, self cleaning oven, coffee bar area, wet sink (cold tap only) for veg prep, original oak cupboards stocked with dishes, breakfast nook w/marble table at east window end of kitchen.
For cleaning up and utility work, we use the scullery, beyond the west end of the kitchen.
It has a double stainless sink, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, iron, ironing board, with access to master bath, and/or separate west end porte finetre that steps out into garden.
Lower patio has small reading table/chairs -- and retractable laundry line for fresh air drying.
Spacious living room, furnished with Breton antiques, couch and chairs, coffee table, high speed internet/office area overlooking garden, Godin woodstove. Dining table seats up to 12 with benches and chairs.
